rom Detroit’s Baker’s Keyboard Lounge to The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, Brenda Perryman has been speaking the right words and uniquely delivering her original poetry for over twenty years. Having been called a Renaissance Woman by many, Brenda has always believed in using the talents God gave her. Besides speaking and performing publicly, she currently hosts The Brenda Perryman Show on television and continues to write and direct short films and theatrical productions.
The Brenda Perryman Show (Talk To Me with Brenda Perryman) on Comcast. She has been praised for her ability to bring out the best in her guests. She asks the important questions and her conversations with her guests are easy-going and inspiring. Brenda’s ingratiating personality has gained her fans and viewers around the nation. At least twice a month, she highlights people and organizations that serve the metropolitan Detroit community’s senior citizens and less fortunate. Brenda has served the Detroit community in numerous ways and many arenas.
Brenda’s stellar past includes being the Chrysler Corporation’s featured poet for the company’s “Spirit in the Words” program. She served as performance poet/speaker for Procter & Gamble’s nation-wide “Total You Tour”, which reached thousands of young women on college campuses and in urban convention centers. Those appearances led to a special invitation to perform on the Tom Joyner “Fantastic Voyage” Caribbean Cruise. Brenda was the only poet selected to write and perform a poem for actor/author Sidney Poitier on one of his rare Detroit visit. Brenda was the featured poet for “An Evening with Maya Angelou” which took place at Detroit’s Orchestra Hall.
